The Word Exposed featuring Bishop Chito Tagle is an hour-long program that showcases Bishop Tagle in his true form as preacher and homilist. Here, Bishop Tagle shares his reflections and insights on the Sunday scriptures — the first and second readings and the Sunday Gospel — in a manner that is very down-to-earth, crystal clear, awe-inspiring, and yet very simple to understand and appreciate. This program aims to bring the teachings of the Word closer to the lives of audiences. The Word Exposed airs every Sunday, 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. on TV5.

  1. Dear Bishop Chito,

    Pax Christi!

Since the issue about the Pro-Life versus Pro-Choice is coming to the fore, louder and more complicated at that, I feel it is my Christian duty to inform you that it has been more than once that I heard Pro-Choice advocates, at different circumstances, and from different voices, say that you are in favor of reproductive health. When they this, they make it sound that you too are advocating their Pro-Choice cause. I know, deep in my heart, that you are not a Pro-Choice advocate. However, is it possible that you may have said something in the past that gave these people the impression that you are Pro-Choice? Is it possible that you may have said that you are in favor of taking care of women's reproductive health, but not in favor of the proposed legislation being pushed by the Pro-Choice people, thus giving them the hint that you share their mind set?

Being on TV, you may want to clarify this on your show The Word Exposed or come up even with a short catechesis on the Church's stand on sexuality, sex education, family and God's plan for procreation.

I know Bishop that you are a staunch defender of the Church and that is why I am making it known to you that some of these Pro-Choice people are using you name to further their evil cause [unfortunately most of them are Catholics and they do not know that what they are advocating is evil, and as the Church puts it - intrinsically evil, and that no amount of good intention will right this wrong].

    Thank you.

    Godbless. Shalom.
